Speaker View Blank when Switching from Grid View

Summary

When switching from Grid to Speaker layout, both the speaker window and thumbs row are empty/blank

Steps to Reproduce

1. Join a conference with at least 2 participants
2. Switch from grid to speaker view
3. Notice that neither the thumbsrow nor a speaker is displayed

Acceptance Criteria

• speaker and/or thumbsrow are displayed if at least 2 participants are in a conference
